Please reach us at logan@blueeaglegen.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We have access to millions of records and whats more, we know what they contain and when to use them. Only qualified genealogists can truly say this. When you employ Blue Eagle Genealogy you are assured of a quality service from a genealogist with both professional qualifications and professional accreditation.
Send us an email with your enquiry and we can begin a free consultation which involves receiving information from you, and an initial search to make sure sufficient documents are available.
You will need to provide me with some facts so we can start researching your family tree. Any information you may have, such as approximate dates of birth or marriage, and where these events may have taken place would be really helpful. Ideally we start with your parents and grandparents if possible. If you have copies of certificates, even better. A simple email containing the information is fine, scanned copies of certificates are better, and if you already have a tree as a document or software package on your computer, that would be ideal.
We aim to complete our enquiries within 4 to 8 weeks. If the research is likely to continue for a longer period of time, you will be kept informed of our progress. Smaller commissions can be undertaken in less time.
Once we have completed the research for you, what you recieve will depend on your research agreement but in all cases you will receive a narative report, a family chart and a descendant report (when applicable). The report contains copies of documents examined, including transcripts of these, together with any certificates purchased. Full details regarding the historical sources consulted are also given. We can also supply additional copies of our reports for relatives if desired.
Once an agreement has been reached regarding the research objective, 50% of the fee will be paid as a deposit, the final payment will be due when the research has ended.
The ability to research a family tree depends on a number of factors: the survival of records, the condition of historical documents, the popularity of a surname, migration patterns, the social standing of an ancestor to name but a few. In the majority of cases it is possible to progress research back to at least the early 1800s / late 1700s. In general terms, the further back you go the more difficult it gets to progress further.
